The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the accuracy, consolidation and interpretation of management accounts submitted by CN companies around the world. This will include both monthly results and quarterly/annual forecasts.
  • Build a good understanding of the global business and assist on reporting queries and developments.
  • Manage the compilation and checking of reporting submissions, prior to them going to the Chairman.
  • Undertake detailed reviews of management accounts to identify concerns and issues along with successes and best practices. Where applicable, they will work with the countries to establish an understanding of these issues, providing advice and guidance where necessary.
  • Work with the Planning Department in establishing guidelines and recommendations for reporting and to continually improve the reporting process.

  • Excellent academics including a 2.1-degree or higher from a top-class university.
  • Proven accounting ability - part-qualified CIMA - and a genuine interest in financial analysis and reporting.

  • First class communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and capable of working with senior executives.

Condé Nast is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Commercial Director for WIRED. 

WIRED, launched in the UK in 2009, has rapidly established itself as the country's pre-eminent voice on innovation, technology, business and design. It has become a multi-platform brand, targeting discrete segments, with different media products, that cut across both consumer and business audiences. What unites these audiences is optimism, fresh thinking and a deep curiosity about the future.

WIRED publishes a monthly magazine in print and digital formats.  It has a website, WIRED.co.uk. It will host five conferences in 2014 - WIRED 2014, WIRED Health, WIRED Money, WIRED Retail and WIRED Next Generation. (A longer slate of events is planned for 2015). It has just launched WIRED Consulting - allowing corporates to access the intelligence and insights gathered by the WIRED network.

The role of this person is to head up and develop the commercial side of all WIRED UK branded entities, managing a small team selling print advertising pages, digital packages, events and wider cross platform sponsorships. 

They will collaborate closely with the Editor and Condé Nast's central resources. They will oversee the marketing of the brand to consumers as well as advertisers.

What are we looking for?

  • The successful candidate will be first and foremost of an entrepreneurial mind-set.  There will be a strong appetite for delivering growth and for building the WIRED business, both in the consumer and B2B space. To this end, the successful candidate must be able to identify new touchpoints where WIRED can engage with consumers and advertisers.

Acting Fashion & Beauty Editor - 118

The UK's no.1 bridal title, Condé Nast Brides, is looking for a motivated, creative and passionate journalist to take on the role of Acting Fashion & Beauty Editor to cover maternity leave.

You will be responsible for coming up with original and creative ideas and shooting a wide variety of stories, from Chiconomy and beauty shopping pages to the clever and relevant stories on our news pages. As well as the magazine, you will oversee a large number of fashion and beauty pages for our regular supplements and online (as required) and will be key in helping organise talking-point elements for our twice-yearly event, Brides The Show. All of this while managing a busy diary of press appointments and ensuring you're the first to know about all things new and beautiful. 

You will need to juggle several projects at once and have the confidence to effectively pitch your ideas to the Editor with strong visual concepts.

A strong interest in and first-class knowledge of every aspect of fashion - from bridal to ready-to-wear, couture to high street - is essential, as are excellent PR contacts. You will need to be knowledgeable and confident about beauty, too, and have a minimum of four years' styling experience on a glossy magazine or national newspaper.

TATLER EDITORIAL
Acting Deputy Picture Editor - 112
(Maternity-Cover Contract)

TATLER is seeking an experienced Deputy Picture Editor with a passionate interest in modern and archival photography to join its editorial department on a maternity-cover basis.

The successful candidate will help provide all visual content for Tatler, including imagery for cover, beauty, fashion and travel features. Picture research will be one of the main aspects of the role, so an in-depth knowledge of picture agencies, particularly archive agencies, is essential. An interest in Tatler is important, as is an understanding of what makes it unique.

In collaboration with the Acting Picture Editor, the deputy will help organise photoshoots and will liaise externally with photographers, photo libraries, hair and make-up artists and studios.

The successful candidate will also undertake many of the regular tasks of a busy picture department, from scanning images for layouts, dealing with returns and ordering prints for repro, to working with budgets and invoices, and negotiating fees with image libraries.

The person we are looking for will need to be comfortable working as part of a small team, extremely well organised, confident and efficient, with a pleasant telephone manner and good 'people skills'. Computer literacy is essential, as well as strong Adobe Photoshop CS skills. Some experience of data management systems would be useful but is not crucial.

WIRED is offering an editorial internship beginning in September at its London office on a paid six-month fixed-term basis. This presents a rare and valuable opportunity to participate in magazine production, online reporting and conference curation at the highest level. The successful candidate will also be offered the chance to continue her or his relationship with WIRED by contributing to the magazine and website on a freelance basis.

The editorial intern will be actively involved in generating ideas for the various magazine sections, writing items as required, researching and fact-checking, liaising with contributors, and performing other tasks across the brand's many digital platforms and events programme as required.

We are looking for an energetic, driven individual who can show evidence of being committed to journalism as a career. Candidates must also demonstrate a close familiarity with the magazine and understand its particular editorial and design requirements. A passion for technology, science and culture is an absolute must. Knowledge of publishing systems, Adobe InDesign and InCopy is advantageous. Experience writing original copy for a print or online publication is, naturally, also preferable, though not essential.
