Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

The position is based in the Condé Nast International (CNI) Head Office in London where the successful candidate will play a key role in the Planning Department and will report to the Strategy & Planning Analyst and the Director of Planning. They will be in a very high profile position and be exposed to business critical information. The role would be ideal for a candidate seeking to combine high-level consolidation, management accounts and commercial analytical experience, with developing a career within a major publishing company.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the accuracy, consolidation and interpretation of management accounts submitted by CN companies around the world. This will include both monthly results and quarterly/annual forecasts.
  • Build a good understanding of the global business and assist on reporting queries and developments.
  • Manage the compilation and checking of reporting submissions, prior to them going to the Chairman.
  • Undertake detailed reviews of management accounts to identify concerns and issues along with successes and best practices. Where applicable, they will work with the countries to establish an understanding of these issues, providing advice and guidance where necessary.
  • Work with the Planning Department in establishing guidelines and recommendations for reporting and to continually improve the reporting process.
  • Provide statistical support and analysis to the Planning Department on an ad-hoc basis in respect to special projects. While this will involve spreadsheet work, there will also be some exposure to the creative and commercial sides of the business.

This unique opportunity should appeal to a bright, commercially astute applicant who fulfils the following selection criteria:

  • Excellent academics including a 2.1-degree or higher from a top-class university.
  • Proven accounting ability - part-qualified CIMA - and a genuine interest in financial analysis and reporting.
  • At least one year's experience in a commercial environment, preferably in a highly reputable blue-chip company.
  • First class communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and capable of working with senior executives.
  • A proactive, questioning and analytical approach.
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with a meticulous approach to tasks.
  • Experience of working in a media company would be an advantage but is not essential.

TATLER is seeking an experienced Deputy Picture Editor with a passionate interest in modern and archival photography to join its editorial department on a maternity-cover basis.

The successful candidate will help provide all visual content for Tatler, including imagery for cover, beauty, fashion and travel features. Picture research will be one of the main aspects of the role, so an in-depth knowledge of picture agencies, particularly archive agencies, is essential. An interest in Tatler is important, as is an understanding of what makes it unique.

In collaboration with the Acting Picture Editor, the deputy will help organise photoshoots and will liaise externally with photographers, photo libraries, hair and make-up artists and studios.

The successful candidate will also undertake many of the regular tasks of a busy picture department, from scanning images for layouts, dealing with returns and ordering prints for repro, to working with budgets and invoices, and negotiating fees with image libraries.

The person we are looking for will need to be comfortable working as part of a small team, extremely well organised, confident and efficient, with a pleasant telephone manner and good 'people skills'. Computer literacy is essential, as well as strong Adobe Photoshop CS skills. Some experience of data management systems would be useful but is not crucial.

Experience writing original copy for a print or online publication is, naturally, also preferable, though not essential.
