  Senior Promotions Copywriter - 122

 

GQ is looking for a Copywriter to join its busy promotions team on a three day a week basis. The candidate must be a great writer, organised and flexible, with an ability to turn copy around at short notice and on tight deadlines.

This position works closely with the promotions team brainstorming ideas, liaising with clients and writing copy for all promotions pages in GQ and its many supplements.

WIRED, launched in the UK in 2009, has rapidly established itself as the country's pre-eminent voice on innovation, technology, business and design. WIRED publishes a monthly magazine in print and digital formats.  It has a website, WIRED.co.uk. The UK's no.1 bridal title, Condé Nast Brides, is looking for a motivated, creative and passionate journalist to take on the role of Acting Fashion & Beauty Editor to cover maternity leave.

Art Production Assistant - 117

The successful candidate will be responsible for some layout design, but will primarily be a technical hand, taking the digital edition to repro, handling the editorial metadata, and animating pages using Adobe Edge, Final Cut, or After Effects, to include video or animations for layouts as required.

This role is a backbone to the increasingly busy Art desk, as new technology demands careful transferral of the magazine content on to different platforms, including iPhone.  The Art team rely on this person, together with the Digital Asset Manager, to make sure all these assets are carefully pulled together. This can entail everything from compressing video to backing up all our monthly editions, as well as producing and delivering promotional material of the new issue for digital platforms. The Production Assistant will be constantly monitoring new technical trends and developments in order to ensure that Vogue's digital editions are including all the latest and best digital design features we may need. 

A good knowledge of the whole Creative Suite is vital, knowledge of the Adobe DPS tools and HTML experience is important and as well as a keen interest and experience in digital design and Vogue's design aesthetic.

Proven experience of managing a design team.  Strong leadership and excellent
communication skills are essential. A proficient understanding of the luxury

Alongside this, the successful applicant will be responsible for organising our bi-annual photographic shoots of modern furniture in Italy. TATLER is seeking an experienced Deputy Picture Editor with a passionate interest in modern and archival photography to join its editorial department on a maternity-cover basis.

The successful candidate will help provide all visual content for Tatler, including imagery for cover, beauty, fashion and travel features. Picture research will be one of the main aspects of the role, so an in-depth knowledge of picture agencies, particularly archive agencies, is essential. An interest in Tatler is important, as is an understanding of what makes it unique.

In collaboration with the Acting Picture Editor, the deputy will help organise photoshoots and will liaise externally with photographers, photo libraries, hair and make-up artists and studios.

The successful candidate will also undertake many of the regular tasks of a busy picture department, from scanning images for layouts, dealing with returns and ordering prints for repro, to working with budgets and invoices, and negotiating fees with image libraries.

The person we are looking for will need to be comfortable working as part of a small team, extremely well organised, confident and efficient, with a pleasant telephone manner and good 'people skills'. Computer literacy is essential, as well as strong Adobe Photoshop CS skills. Some experience of data management systems would be useful but is not crucial.

Condé Nast International is seeking a an experienced candidate to act as the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system administrator across all Condé Nast International owned and operated markets for the Adobe CQ5 (AEM) DAM and associated software products. You will also be required to coordinate Product development activities and feature requests from users.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Configuration and administration of the DAM
  • Manage support requests, through CNI's incident, change and issue tracking tools from both IT helpdesks and users in each of CNI markets (English only - other languages are an advantage but not essential)
  • Triage support requests and provide responses to questions and issues ensuring that SLA's and OLA's are met
  • Assign support requests to suppliers, track incidents, update users and provide reports
  • Provide training and support to users as required
  • Ensure that DAM documentation is up-to-date including user guides and training materials
  • Manage and update the knowledge base
  • Work with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure suppliers and resources are supporting DAM software releases
  • Manage feature requests from the project team, users and IT people in CNI markets
  • Coordinate the Design committee meetings, track actions and manage feature requests
  • Liaise with end users and IT users  to ensure feature requests are fully
    understood and report back to the Design committee
  • Liaise with CNI's Business Analyst to validate any complex feature requests

HOUSE & GARDEN is looking for an experienced Features Editor with a strong interest in interiors, design and architecture, a well-honed eye, and a flair and curiosity for finding and telling a story.

This is a senior position, working closely with the Editor, and is likely to include:

  • Assisting the Editor to commission each issue
  • Choosing and commissioning writers for the house features, guiding those commissioned writers and, where necessary, editing their copy
  • Occasional viewing of potential houses. Liaising with the art department on choice of photographers for house features and sometimes
    directing the shoots, as well as writing house stories.
  • Finding, researching, writing, and directing photography for other features, as well as working with the art team on the layout for these features.

WIRED is offering an editorial internship beginning in September at its London office on a paid six-month fixed-term basis. This presents a rare and valuable opportunity to participate in magazine production, online reporting and conference curation at the highest level. The successful candidate will also be offered the chance to continue her or his relationship with WIRED by contributing to the magazine and website on a freelance basis.

The editorial intern will be actively involved in generating ideas for the various magazine sections, writing items as required, researching and fact-checking, liaising with contributors, and performing other tasks across the brand's many digital platforms and events programme as required.

We are looking for an energetic, driven individual who can show evidence of being committed to journalism as a career. Candidates must also demonstrate a close familiarity with the magazine and understand its particular editorial and design requirements. A passion for technology, science and culture is an absolute must. Knowledge of publishing systems, Adobe InDesign and InCopy is advantageous. Experience writing original copy for a print or online publication is, naturally, also preferable, though not essential.
