WIRED.co.uk has an exciting vacancy for an enthusiastic intern to join its expanding editorial team. This is a six-month paid internship and a chance to get directly involved in WIRED.co.uk's daily news and features process and experience the way WIRED magazine and Wired.co.uk work together.

The primary role of the successful candidate involves production, such as preparing WIRED magazine content for online publication, as well as supporting the Editor and Associate Editor with uploading freelance copy to WIRED.co.uk and other tasks. The best candidate will also be able to write tight and timely original content for the website's news channel, help with social media activity, get involved with all editorial meetings and planning, join our podcast and arrive every day with great ideas for stories, photographs and features. Writing longform features is also an option for exceptional candidates.

A passion for technology, science and culture is an absolute must and a creative mind is key to being successful. The International Permissions team is looking for a junior member to join their busy and challenging department.

The UK International Permissions team facilitates the exchange of material within Condé Nast; coordinating with Condé Nast titles around the world to provide original British material to other titles within the Condé Nast umbrella, thereby providing a range of benefits to the group as a whole. 

This role involves processing information regarding copyright, costs and image data for individual features and contributors. The successful candidate will be required to liaise with international Condé Nast staff, Condé Nast contributors, agents and on occasion subjects, to ensure the smooth running of the requesting system. You will also work with the other members of the International Permissions team to syndicate UK Condé Nast material to third parties, liaising with contributors and agents as well as the external client. This will require a very basic knowledge of copyright regulations.

You will work closely with the Editorial Business department for all queries regarding rights and costs. You will also work alongside Condé Nast International to ensure the successful implementation of their strategies and provide information required for reports and future planning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, conscientious, and methodical intern to help work on this incredible event, both in the run up and on-site in Florence, Italy.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive experience of customer database marketing at key user level - analysing, selecting and exporting data using variable criteria (using FastStats or similar software).
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated success in developing, executing, analysing and reporting on campaigns through email and other online marketing channels including social media.
  • A creative mind with an eye for design and good email copywriting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise, work under pressure to  tight deadlines and manage a large number of campaigns at once.

Skills & Qualities:

Ideal Experience Required:

  • Strong qualities to mentor a team and build internal relationships with other teams
